Born and raised in Mexico City, he began his journey in photography as a teenager, experimenting with a 35mm film camera lented to him by his father — the same one he used when he was young. This early experience sparked a lifelong pursuit of visual storytelling. Although initially drawn to music and sound design, his time in film school revealed a deeper passion for cinematography, which quickly became his primary artistic focus.
He has received training from leading educational institutions and has participated in international artist residencies in Italy and Spain, the latter under the guidance of Werner Herzog and Peter Zeitlinger. These experiences helped shape a cinematic vision rooted in strong visual composition and emotional resonance.
In addition to his work in film, he has built a solid career in commercial cinematography, collaborating with global brands such as H&M, L’Oréal, Nestlé, IHOP, and Movistar. His sets are marked by a calm, creative atmosphere that encourages collaboration while maintaining a clear visual direction. His work reflects a deep commitment to the craft and a understanding exploration of the image language.
For Héctor, this is more than work — it’s passion, storytelling, and art.
